Here at Sacred Flame Ayurveda, we recognize that your most vital and joyful state of health occurs when you are honoring and celebrating who you are.
We stay true to the wisdom of the Vedas, which teaches us that states of imbalance are determined by what is normal FOR YOU versus what is abnormal FOR YOU.
We stay true to the wisdom of the Vedas, which teaches us that states of imbalance are determined by what is normal FOR YOU versus what is abnormal FOR YOU.
Your normal might be anxious, or hyperactive. Your normal might be hot-tempered. Your normal might include crying when situations are upsetting or stressful. It’s ok.
One person’s anxiety could be an indication of imbalance, but for another person this could just be part of who they are.
One person’s analytical mindset could be an unbalanced state of overthinking, while for another person it could simply be their nature to possess a highly analytical mind.
The person who still has their favorite piece of clothing from high school in adulthood is not necessarily hoarding things that they don’t need.
Your state of balance is determined not by what is problematic for others in your life, or by what other people think is “normal”. Any state of imbalance is determined by what is out of the norm for you.
Together, we will identify where things are out of balance, and restore your own state of normalcy, by implementing therapeutic strategies to enhance your feelings of wellbeing while creating health-promoting habits that are compatible with who you are.
Everyone’s optimum state of health looks different, and in order to cultivate that beautiful state of wellbeing, we cannot apply rigid dietary structures and daily routines. We must consider first who you are as a person, what your life is like, and what you’d like your life to be like if you were embodying your healthiest self. We must listen to your experience, because you deserve to be heard!
It is by truly listening - to your body, your feelings, and your experiences - that we can discover the root causes of unbalanced states of health, which according to Ayurvedic Science lie within the Nine Universal Energies and Five Elements of the body.
Michelle Garber, who is the head of our practice, has been studying the Vedas directly from her teachers, through oral tradition, for over 30 years. Michelle also has a background working in infectious disease research, and a Masters Degree in Public Health. Her unique background of knowledge and context allows her to differentiate well-intentioned but mistaken applications of Ayurveda in the West, and to apply authentic teachings of the Vedas to help people experience revolutionary healing results!
Our approach here at Sacred Flame Ayurveda is to cultivate radical healing of physiological states of dis-ease, and to enhance mental wellbeing, by staying true to authentic Ayurvedic Science. The Vedic Science of Ayurveda is first and foremost a system of energy medicine, which utilizes the science of physics to bring healing to the body (biology) and mind (psychology).
By staying true to this ancient science, we recognize that most folks in the modern world are overwhelmed and overly busy, and that many health issues folks are dealing with are aggravated as a result. To overwhelm folks further (as is common) with a treatment protocol that involves taking 8 different herbal supplements, overhauling their entire way of eating, and rearranging their time off work to accommodate a host of new self-care practices…this is counter-productive and will not result in healing. Maybe someone could stick with this kind of program for a very short while, but the underlying energies of overwhelm would be escalated and then the root causes of any health issue would be getting worse. No long-term sustainable health habits will result from this kind of approach.
We also don’t use Ayurveda here as just another fad diet, with strict “dosha food lists”. Yes, you may receive some medicinal food recommendations, but they will likely be very different from what you’ve encountered before, and they will definitely be easier to follow. Because rigid dietary structures in Ayurveda are intended for ascetics (monks and nuns), and they’re not health-promoting for a person who is working a job and maintaining a household.
Here at Sacred Flame Ayurveda, we are different because we consider the big picture, and we consider you as an individual. Our goal is to guide you home to yourself through a program that provides noticeable and measurable healing results, while helping you to cultivate a life of joy and celebration.
Our goal is to help you return to YOUR version of normal, to embody your most vital and joyful state of health, and to celebrate ALL of who you are.

“I am so grateful for the healing years ago and haven’t been able to find anything that has helped me like our sessions did. My anxiety is no longer a problem, thanks to you years ago.”
